About Sharon

Nam When I was in the 5th grade, a close friend turned on me and started the “I hate Sharon Mor” club. Initiation was “what do you hate more, Sharon or shit?”

Not surprisingly, it deeply impacted me. I quickly learned to try to be everything to everyone: I bought the most en vogue neon yellow earrings, got unhealthily skinny, permed my hair and coated it with absurd amounts of Aqua Net hairspray.

Guess what. It worked! I had friends and was running around with the “in-crowd.” I was well known and even liked by many. In my senior year of high school I was nominated to run my school rallies (2,000 kids in an auditorium!). My title was The Associate Student Body Social Manager. A huge honor in 1987. Suddenly, everyone started to love Sharon Mor.

Behind the latest fashion trend and desperately trying to fit in, was someone who was hiding who I was. Hiding that I was gay.

My Inspiration

There’s one very special person who has been my inspiration and soulmate. My story wouldn’t be complete without me telling you about her.
